And if I couldn't attain, all I need to explain
Would she even look me in the eye again?
She sits back and ignores, my need to adore
Intimidations got me down again
She's only 18, but such a beautiful dream
All she needs is some chloroform and she'll be mine!

Chloroform, the one, the one that you love
And take her back!

Every once and awhile
I catch her strut and a smile
Maybe rejection, is the high that keeps me coming here
I need some compassion
But she's laughing at the nervousness I feel
Whenever she is around
And I can see just how real is the charm
No I don't mean you no harm
Despite my heart, and the challange while she's lyin' here

Chloroform, the one, the one that you love
And take her back!
Chloroform, the one, the one that you love
And take her back!

So just walk on by
And I can say today's like any other day
This is brighter than it was before
I just can't believe that it's not the same
No it's not the same
It'll never be the same for me again

Chloroform, the one, the one that you love
And take her back!
Chloroform, the one, the one that you love
And take her back!
Chloroform, the one, the one that you love
And take her back!
Chloroform, the one, the one that you love
And take her back!

no, to chloroform is to put the chemical onto a cloth then to have them breathe it in most usually by covering the mouth and nose with the cloth to knock them out then you kidnap and/or rape them

yea geoada's right, they use it to kidnap and rape people, they use it in a lot of movies. (hah remember ace ventura pet detective, he used it on the football player runnin track) so yea this song is sick, but i still LOVE it, and they kick ass in concert. hes such a great performer, really gettin into his music...a really kickass band

This is by far my favorite song about rape. Flickerstick was my first concert, and when Brandin sang this song, instead of 18, he said "She's only 15", which, obviously, was my age at the time. But you can't rape the willing, though, now can you?

I think it's actually more the kidnap aspect than rape. He talks about "Taking her back." That just seems more like kidnap than rape to me...

ok, I don't think this song is about any kind of date rape at all, just like maynard james keenan's songs (prison sex) aren't really about what he blantantly says. i believe this song is about a guy whos in love with a girl who intimidates him more than anyone else. they have had some kind of relationship but she rejected him, and he continues to love her. and saying that he has to chloroform her is saying it would be the only way she would be with him again...if she was completely paralyzed. he just wants someone there with him.

Taylor Swift
This song is Swift's response to the negative reputation the media has given her. "I can make the bad guys good for a weekend" - the bad guys are the paparazzi to Swift, but are good to the "player" since association with Swift immediately gives publicity. Any publicity is good publicity and Swift knows this. "You can tell me when it's over" - the tabloids rumor relationships are over before the couple announces it officially. With this song Swift is portraying the way she is portrayed by the media. It is a sarcastic jab at how she views herself and how her "ex-lovers" only wanted to be with her to increase their fame. I applaud the brilliance in writing about how you always write about relationships. It is expected so Swift is giving the media what they want and profiting off the attention.
