Says she's got another life
That I am living in my friend
Through and through she says
It's nothing I can change
I always was the one

The celebration ends without a sound
And the friends they're not around
And you find you're all alone
Talking to yourself again
You promised it's the end
Just one night
You'll be fine
Cause in the end the dreams you dream
Are all you ever were

She's got another life that I am living in my friend
Through and through she says it's nothing I can change
I always was the one
And she'll say,
"Come on I'd like to buy the world a Coke
and lie here naked with my girl"
"Come on I'd like to buy the world a Coke
and lie here naked with my girl"

The lights dim once again some day I'll sleep
Cause it's all the same to me
this tiny voice inside my head keeps me awake
Come on let's find the cure
Come on let's die until we live
In the end you'll find how high you climbed
There's no design to ever bring you down

She's got another life that I am living in my friend
Through and through she says it's nothing I can change
She always was the one
And I'll say,
"Come on I'd like to buy the world a Coke
and lie here naked with my girl"
"Come on I'd like to buy the world a Coke
and lie here naked with my girl"
And she knows
And she knows
And she knows
And she knows..

I gotta buy the world a coke
I gotta buy the world a coke
And lie her naked with my girl
(And she knows, and she knows, and she knows)

My friend burned me a mix with this song on it and I got hooked. You just want to play it over and over. It's a great song.

"That I am living in my friend." i think this song, and line, are about someone who you've finally gotten to know,a nd you see that they are a much different preson then you first thought they would be... Well... that was my immediate interpretation after I first listened to the song...

I love this song - especially the line "Says she's got another life" and "She always was the one." Reminds me of a girl..by the way, it's "lie here TAKEN with my girl" not, "lie here NAKED with my girl." at least that's what their website says. Thanks. b

zipped - these are the lyrics from the original song, released in 2000. on the 2001 major label release of the album, coca-cola made them change that word. however, the "naked" is the original lyric and that's still what brandin sings live. btw, i intepret this songs in different ways at different times, but one meaning i think is that he's singing about how things can get so complicated and messed up and sometimes you just wish it could go back to the simplicity it had before, i.e. solving the world's problems just by buying them a drink. flickerstick deliberately makes their lyrics vague, allowing them to apply to a lot of situations and not always be too personal. sorry for suck a long-winded comment! -jackie

sorry but i just read the lyrics--it's "she's got another life", not "getting out a life"

this is my favorite flicker song...it's so amaizing and beautiful in every little way (hehe) i think it's about like being in love with the wrong person and still wanting so badly to spend forever with them

i think brittners response is pretty good....an additional spin i would put on it too though is that maybe its something that is so amazing when they are together, but for whatever reason, she doesnt think he fits into her life. i really dont like the "taken" instead of "naked"...but oh well, glad to hear he sings it "naked" live. that part is very interesting...i think he's saying - if he got to lie there naked with his girl it would be something he would buy the world a coke about. make sense? like a cheers of sorts. it almost sounds like he is trying to persuade her to try anyhow, even though she doesnt think it will work. her and fate maybe? you gotta ask who he is talkign to in the chorus...who hes saying "come on..." to? i think fate and circumstance and what - not.

Ok this song is reeeally confusing to me. "And she'll say, "Come on I'd like to buy the world a Coke and lie here naked with my girl" Is she a lesbian or something, I assumed he was talking about his girlfriend.???

Sunglasses at Night
Corey Hart
In the 1980s, sunglasses were a common fashion for people who wanted to adopt a "tough guy" persona (note all the cop shows from that era -- Simon & Simon, Miami Vice, etc. -- where the lead characters wore shades). So I think this song is about a guy who wears shades as a way of hiding his insecurity after learning that his girlfriend is cheating on him. He's trying to pretend that he's a "tough guy" to hide the fact that his girlfriend's affair is disturbing him.

@[Kahiara:35260] Actually I think the husband passed away, "She sang for you last night She heard you were calling" Many people say they have felt, heard, or seen their loved ones after they have passed. "Don't be scared now Close your eyes She holds guard tonight Go on forward no remorse Life will take it's course" This is said to the late husband by a third part (never named), who encourages him to pass on. Because life will eventually continue. The phrase "holds guard" refers to the ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wake_(ceremony) ) which is a Christian ceremony held after someone dies. Now it is usually held right after the funeral, but in most celtiic countries the wake is held before the funeral. "She danced with you last night so you will remember All you have shared, a lifetime." This sentence feels as if the only thing it wants to convey is their history together, namely, husband and wife. For the rest it just refers back to the first verse.
