Seven deadly sins
Seven ways to win
Seven holy paths to hell
And your trip begins

Seven downward slopes
Seven bloodied hopes
Seven are your burning fires
Seven your desires

I am he, the born-less one
The fallen angel watching you
Babylon, the scarlet whore
I'll infiltrate your gratitude
Don't you dare, to save your son
Kill him now and save the young ones
Be the mother of a birth strangled babe
Be the devils own, Lucifer's my name

Moonchild, hear the mandrake scream, ow
Moonchild, open the seventh seal

I count the heads of those unborn
The accursed ones, I'll find them all
And if you die by your own hand
As a suicide, you shall be damned
And if you try to save your soul
I will torment you, you shall not grow old
With every second and passing breath
You'll be so alone your soul will bleed to death

Moonchild, hear the mandrake scream
Moonchild, open the seventh seal
Moonchild, you'll be mine soon child
Moonchild, take my hand tonight

The twins they are exhausted, seven is this night
Gemini is rising as the red lips kiss to bite
Seven angels, seven demons, battle for his soul
When Gabriel lies sleeping, this child was born to die, oh, oh

One more dies and one more lives
One baby cries, one mother grieves
For all the sins you will commit
You'll beg forgiveness and none I'll give
A web of fear shall be your coat
To clothe you in the night
A lucky escape for you young man
But I'll see you damned in endless night

Moonchild, hear the mandrake scream
Moonchild, open the seventh seal
Moonchild, you'll be mine soon child
Moonchild, take my hand tonight

    Song Meaning

THIS IS MY MEGA METAL MENTALITY ON THIS MASTERPIECE

Ok. This song is the opening title for the album "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son". This album is a concept album that follows the life of the seventh son of a seventh son. In ancient times, this person was regarded to have powers such as clairvoyance. The character in the album expresses that he does not want these powers and that he never asked for them, however, he must live with them. He must pick which side he desires: the good or the evil, which path will he take (Seventh Son of a Seventh Son song lyrics). In this song, Moonchild, the person talking is the "devil" character.
"I am he the bornless one The fallen angel watching you Babylon, the scarlet whore I'll infiltrate your gratitude Don't you dare to save your son Kill him now and save the young ones Be the mother of a birth strangled babe Be the devils own, Lucifer's my name"

The devil wants the mother to kill her child (strangling him) so that the seventh son will not grow and defeat Lucifer, the devil character.

"I count the heads of those unborn The accursed ones I'll find them all And if you die by your own hand As a suicide you shall be damned And if you try to save your soul I will torment you - you shall not grow old With every second and passing breath You'll be so alone your soul will bleed to death"

Lucifer is saying he will kill all of the Seventh Sons. When he is talking about suicide, he is saying that if the Son kills himself, he will be damned to a life in hell. If he tries to escape the devil's hold, he will be tormented and tortured by the devil forever.

"The twins they are exhausted, seven is this night Gemini is rising as the red lips kiss to bite Seven angels seven demons battle for his soul When Gabriel lies sleeping, this child was born to die"

The twins, I believe refer to the Gemini astrological sign as mentioned in the next line. The seven angels and seven demons represent the question of whether he will choose to do good or evil. Gabriel is a reference to the angel from the bible who delivered Mary the news that she would give birth to Jesus. Since Gabriel is sleeping, there is no one to deliver the news. Therefore, the child will not die.

"One more dies one more lives One baby cries one mother grieves For all the sins you will commit You'll beg forgiveness and none I'll give A web of fear shall be your coat To clothe you in the night A lucky escape for you young man But I'll see you damned in endless night"

I believe this is the devil once more speaking about how the mother must kill the Seventh Son. When Harris (the writer) is speaking about all the sins the Son will commit and how he will beg for forgiveness but receive none, I believe, is saying that when the Son does wrong to the devil, but then comes crawling back for forgiveness, the devil will not take him and will damn him to hell. This web of fear is possibly referring to how the devil will torment and frighten the Son due to the fact that the son escaped his grasp and escaped him. Harris is then saying that the Son's escape was very lucky, but the devil will one day find him and make the Son wish he stayed with the devil.

I hope I have helped :) UP THE IRONS!

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
