I think that it's about the end of the world and God coming to set things straight. But I don't really understand the context of all the lyrics. Like, the first verse where she's singing is obvious. Also, I understand "Rapunzel and a tomboy Fatherless a heart broke" as being about Sierra and Bianca and the fact that they are now estranged from their father. And I understand the last two lyrics of the song, but the rest of it goes right over my head. |

I like your interpretation but my personal one is this: I think that it's about a person going through a rough time (depression) and the one person they try to talk to wont listen and keeps going on about their own problems instead of taking the itme to help him: "I'm sick of feeling my soul To people who'll never know Just how purposely and empty they grow" He's sick of talking to people who wont listen to what he has to say. "Because their language confuses Like computers refuse to understand How i'm feeling today" And he hates talking to therapists (the computers, all the information, none of the feeling) because they don't understand him. "I'm freezing and losing my way I don't need another map of your head" He's suffering through depression and he doesn't need other people's problems piled on his own. "I saw a liquid controlled That gives life to a soul I hit my head on it and woke up to know That i was all alone Wearing just socks and a phone Someone's screaming ike their world might explode" He's tried alcohol but it doesn't seem to work and it just makes things worse. But that's just me. |

The song IS a story about humans realizing that Earth is destroyed, leaving and then realizing that they need to change to keep this new planet alive. Also, science fiction was MEANT to make social commentaries. That's what science fiction is meant for, for the most part. So, yeah. Examples: "Doctor Who", "1984", "The Chrysalids", etc. |

| For me, personally, I think "Oh Injury" is about how someone is "rebuilding" themselves to be apathetic because they have grown tired of not having the life they wanted and always feeling like crap, so they've decided to make themselves apathetic so they wouldn't have to feel all that. The machine is what the man wants to become. He wants to be mechanical so that he doesn't have to feel all the sadness of the world. And Melora's "character" is trying to break him out of it and take him out of that apathy. And if my opinion is what the song is about then I love love love the metaphor. | |

"I saw a liquid control, That gives life to us all, I hit my head on it and woke up to know, That I was all alone, Wearing just socks and a phone, Someone screaming like their world might explode," This part is about how because of his pain he gets really drunk, calls the person he's singing about and, in his drunken stupor, tells him/her how he truly feels about him/her and he wakes up with them screaming through the phone at him. "I'm freezing and losing my way, I don't need another map of your head." It's saying that he has his own problems and he doesn't need to keep hearing about yours: "I don't need another map of your head." All in all I think this song is about how Matt's having a hard time and he doesn't feel like he can talk about it to anyone and the one person he trusts isn't getting over their own problems long enough to try and help him out when he really needs it, they just keep going on about their own problems whenever he tries to talk about his. |

And I was reading the comments on this song and someone actually took her lyrics to mean that this is what she actually wants, totally oblivious to the fact that they're sarcastic. In my opinion, and I haven't read any other comments so sorry if I repeat something (I new), this song is about someone, maybe late teens early adulthood, who is unsure of themselves and has maybe had their heart broken. They are too old do dream of something better, but they are too young to care about the future or their own mortality, even though they know that they aren't immortal. His older, wiser side is telling him that his love can't last forever and that he needs to move on but he can't see that. His younger, less rational side is telling him to go ahead and persue the love even though he's got his whole life to have new lovers. |
