(I'm female, not male. ;) ) Studson, just to let you know, there are rumors that Brandon is BI, not gay, but... I wouldn't believe it, no matter how girly Brandon can act, he's still straight. See what marijuana can do to a guy? He was your average guy, until he smoked marijuana ONCE, and then he became all poetic fifteen minutes later. :p He was scaring his girlfriend (at the time) because of the way he was acting. The song means the exact opposite. If you've ever played Halo or Halo 2 on XBox live, you'll know that it requires massive teamwork to win. I've seen my boyfriend and his brother lose countless times because they've had a bad team, and they're both very good Halo players. I guess the whole "Don't ask, don't tell, follow!" is talking to a player that isn't as good as you are, and you're telling them not ask questions, don't say anything about what you're doing (as enemies in the vicinity can hear you, if you're using a headset), and just follow the person and watch his/her back. Almost like a CTF theme.... |

Fungus Amongus was the CD they wrote and released independently, because no one would sign them at the time. Everything they used in the CD was their stuff, they didn't have anyone helping them create different sounds and mixing the CD, unless they wanted to hire someone, but they were highschool kids at the time, and all of em had jobs except Brandon, so I doubt they could hire someone to do something like that. The version on Enjoy Incubus has a more professional sound to it. |

Ever listen to a song and at first didn't like it, but slowly warmed up to it? That's how I am with this song. I was confused on the meaning of the lyrics ("You make me happy..") and how the song was done. The song gave this melancholic tone, but I didn't understand the point of "You make me happy.", it didn't make since to me. But after readin the lyrics, it does make since. The melacholic tone is due to something gone, something regretting, something missed. But, the person (highly likely female, I don't think something would be written like this to a guy.) made him feel good in the past. But he knew he couldn't see the person anymore, and missed them. Kind of reminds me of "I Miss You", (almost) same lyrical content, but musically, different. |

When I first listened to it, my first thought was...it was a recording of Hitler or something, and "eier" meant Jews. (I have no previous learning of German, so I didn't know.) I found the lyrics. Translated them. Realized I was completely wrong. Listening to the song again. Laughed my ass off. From my mistakes I think this song means, mostly what Makoe said in the beginning of these assloads of posts to determine the meaning is: It's a test for people to judge or not judge. If you judge TOOL as some Nietzche (I think I spelt his name right) /Hitler/neo-Nazi band, then you're completely wrong, and are missing out on some great music. If you look deeper, you find that it's just a recipe. But it's ironic how it's sung, because like I said, I thought it was a recording of Hitler at a political conference; and how Maynard puts emphasis on "eier" like he's meaning Jews..."AND NO EGGS(JEWS)", if you still think it's a Hitler recording, you'll think "AND NO JEWS", no Jews in the Nazi society. Ironic, eh? |

if this has already been said, forget it. but i'm not really in the mood to look to see if it has. Note: Don't let yourself become overwhelmed with a grudge against those that have one [a grudge]. So, even though those that have a grudge and are more than likely blind by their hatred, don't let yourself become blinded by a hatred for those type of people. It's like saying 'You can't fight fire with fire.' Well, in the same sense, those words apply. But, to become one of.. well.. neither, to not hold a grudge against those type of people, is..exactly what you're thinking. Difficult. But, like it is said in this song, not exactly, but, "Be humble". Be nice, to everyone. Even if it is hard, do it just the same, and if the person has a problem with your niceness, then it's their problem not your's, and therefore, they're the ones with the life sentence of a grudge [prison] until they're proven guilty and wrong. i know it sounds like i'm preaching..but, it's something else you have to look at. don't grudge and judge people with a grudge and judge people. |

| parabol..i asked my math teacher about this, this morning, as i bought the album yesterday and was confused about why Parabol and Parabola are spelt similarily. i though Parabol was another math term.. but actually.. it's a bible story, at least that is what i was told about it. and when you think about it.. it's true. not the damned christian bible, but as Alex Grey was making real, the Human Bible. *Our* bible. the bible of life. the bible of creation. the bible of religion is a facade lie. but the feeling of being real and human and mortal is reason enough to write a "bible story" about us. we are the greatest thing that we have found so far on this planet. but so many of us have taken the feeling for granted. as Infirmo said, live each moment..to the truest, most purest form. live like each second is the last. this song could be.. a plea for each person listening to do this. it's difficult to do such, and in a sense, you must act like you have been reborn. experience the same things that you learned when you were a child. one way i have found this to be possible is.. if you know a familar wall.. continuously run your fingers over it.. touch it..
