its about (to me anyway) a teenage love affair (hence rabbiTEEN) which ends abruptly when he buggers off (RABITeen - see clever!) when they were together he made so many promises that she believed, but every one was a lie. i love the sarcasm in the line 'forever wasnt very long' . in the chorus its like her justifying it or defending him or whatever. sort of denial, because she believes that he only lied because he loves her. i can really relate to this because of my bf, and i always hoped i wudnt :(
