Besides that, I think Jon is touching on the ridiculous concepts of things such as fate and punishment for sins. So often when something bad happens to someone, you will see them looking up to the sky and ask "why me?," as if they were being punished for something they did wrong. It's really quite illogical. We don't even know if "God" exists, and Jon even touches on that. Too many people have convinced themselves that they KNOW there is a "God" because their believe is so ridiculously strong. Beliefs are too dangerous. Nonetheless, I think this song is a little Nietzsche-esque.
