I love this song. Someone here said it sounds patronizing and sarcastic since Jesus being dirty with worms all up in his hair is not fitting for a divine figure, like the lyrics are making fun of him, but I don't think that was the intention at all. It's more so depicting his humility, how despite being God, he is willing to dig himself out and be covered in dirt like any person would (if they were in that situation lol) and isn't ashamed of it, just like how he isn't ashamed to hang out with the sinners and outcasts. It's also an innocent image, like how a kid in church would imagine it when the preacher says he rose up from the grave. I also love the lyric in the beginning: "I will sing a song to you and you will shake the ground for me" I feel is a reference to psalms18:7-19 where David describes how God answered his cry and shook the ground and saved him from his enemies. We love him and he fights for us.
I don't know much about page france or his stance on Christianity but this is a very spirit filled song whether he realizes it or not lol
