Cover art for Two-Sided Politics lyrics by Suicidal Tendencies

okay ik i made a comment on here a week ago but i wanna talk about what i think the meaning is its in the POV of a targeted minority the government doesnt like. (Or someone who sees that.. like most punks anyway) i feel like being a transgender in todays time kinda aligns with this song in a way.... may be a reach but hear me out "I'm not anti-society, society is anti-me" theres been a shift within society now where trans people arent as accepted "I'm not anti-religion, religion is anti-me" how being trans is a sin, wayyy back in the day some priest started saying how transsexualism is a sin n shit "I'm not anti-anything, I just want to be free" how trans people are portrayed as hateful to the right, or stereotypes about 'em. that they just wanna live "Use self-expression, lose your freedom" how the second you transition people won't like you as well, how the govt will kinda fuck u over ngl (like rn trans people arent allowed in the military) "I'm not anti, anti's anti-me I'm not anti-government, government's anti-me I'm not anti-politics, politics is anti-me I'm not anti-anything, I just want to be free" this part i feel is just how theres laws restricting being trans, anti trans propaganda, etc etc

this probably wasnt mikes intention, i feel like it was left vague for a reason. thanks 4 reading
