when I wrote this song I pondered/mused something....doing the 'right' or 'virtuous' thing often goes completely unrewarded and in fact the outcomes people want in life are almost never achieved by being 'good' or whatever.
Good outcomes are almost never earned, they tend to be 'leveraged' in some way or other.
