This part always makes me think of the video game series, Animal Crossing. Especially relevant when this song may have been written. In a time where we were all trapped inside, we only had virtual bedrooms to show to one another. Virtual bugs, and a virtual moon. This is simply a personal interpretation, but I like to think of how I've played this game series as I've grown up, but it has always been a source of comfort and innocence for me.
