The Gambler Lyrics

I think it's a love story about two men that have a chance encounter and a young guy discovering his sexuality. Two guys alone, on a train to nowhere. That sets up the intimacy right there, like they were in their own little World where they could be themselves. Getting drunk sharing a bottle of whiskey, a couple cigarettes, and some deep conversation...Theres a very dominant and submissive element between these two men. Guess what happens next. The gambler dies. Shakespeare used the same metaphor in Romeo and Juliet, "To die in the arms", it means to have an orgasm. Which ironically is the climax of this story in two ways. The song ends with more questions than answers and I think that's the point he was making about how we constantly search for love and discovering our sexuality.
