Cover art for Johnny 99 lyrics by Bruce Springsteen

One of the fun things about this song is, of course, that there is a mistake in it. It's a demo, and Bruce sings "Ralph" as his protagonist's name in the first verse and then the name changes to "Johnny." In the version he did with the band (you can hear it on the "Electric Nebraska" version on the "Nebraska" release) he corrected it and the name is always "Johnny." But since the demo with the error was released as the formal release, he always sings "Ralph."

@SamSmith2010 @samsmith2010 always noticed that switch and wondered if it was intentional or just bruce being in the moment
