To me this a highly emotional song. Not happy but not necessarily sad.
The lyrics describe a pleasant scene, but they slip up admitting they basically see windows as things that close, shows strong pessimism to me. From there lyrics get desperate, but there's no easy answer. And the whole time the guitar is in agony. Alone and all it can do is keep steadily going forward.
How I hear it:
Guitar - sees a woman that looks happy and hopeful "The sun becomes her" he agrees.
gets a little annoyed
Guitar - "Where does she get it from? The blue sky? Lol. Or maybe opportunities don't always f*king slam in her face like they do for me."
tries to calm down*
Guitar - has to ask "Where do you live? Where are you from?
She - gives non-answers, references a famous poem
frustration builds with each answer, but nothing he can say, obviously she's on to something
Guitar - "maybe it really is just the blue skies.. Some mind's eye thing."
sits and contemplates
I don't think there's any intended takeaway form the song. Just an emotional interaction between two very different people.
