I think you are all right. The beautiful think about music is that we can relate to it in so many ways and so many lyrics speak straight into our souls and it’s meant to be that way. It might be written based on a member of the bands experience or whatever, but if we only listened to music because of how it sounds (and some people do and that’s okay too) but I suspect people on this forum are interested because it means something deep and special to them. And that’s what it means. For them. Music is this beautiful creative eclectic and even ethreal when we personalize it to our experiences, beliefs, experiences and traumas. And you are all right, what the song means to you is right. Even if it means something different to someone else.
