I think possibly the 'you begged me to keep you in that house on the hill'-meaning like so many women expect to be "kept" and I think he did what he thought love was supposed to be with the picture perfect house and gave the woman all she wanted, but then realized even if he created what looked like the perfect fairytale love story, he didn't really love her and never did...So now that that was over he knew he never truly had ever felt the passion of really being in love, so now he's looking out for "Big Love", for (Real Love).
