I interpret this song as being sexual (despite reading so many saying it wasn’t) I think it’s about using intimacy as an escape evem if it’s false and not really sincere which I got from the lyric ‘the stupid kick that makes me real’ and all the things about ‘it’s my lie’, which kinda makes sense why he wouldn’t want to talk about it publicly, but I’m not really sure
