I have to admit, I really have no answers to give except that I think that this is a pretty good love song and I’ve never heard of the name Blodwyn before. I”m told that it’s actually a woman’s name and all this time I thought it was a man. The singer could’ve been talking about a male friend, I mean after all who knows but I’ve only recently learned that it’s a woman’s name.
Thing is I thought maybe the song had to do with the “culture” meaning if you were Scottish, you might know what they’re talking about in this song. I’m not sure what “Take your/my spoon” means to say or imply, which is why again I thought maybe it was a cultural thing, that only the Scots, Irish or English may know.
If any of you who come across this do know, then don’t hesitate to share it with me or the rest of us, I’d love to know. Good song from a great band. Albeit a band with a sad and tragic fate but this is from the “No Dice” album which I feel is their best. Every song is a winner on this and this album has the original version of “Without You” on it which was made famous by Harry Nilsson and butchered later on by Mariah Carey. Music is life!
