Explained by Michael Poulsen, "It is about a cowboy who gets drafted into war, and when he returns, he’s actually not aware that he’s dead. So he’s actually strolling around as a spirit on his horse and can’t find his wife. What he doesn’t know is that she also passed while he was in the war, and he has no idea that he’s dead and she left him. So he’s strolling around and can’t really figure out where she is. And the wife is asking the reaper to lead him to the other side so they can meet again."
This song also features Sarah Blackwood, a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Burlington, Ontario, Canada. She's best known for her involvement with indie folk-pop band Walk Off the Earth, as well as her previous psychobilly group, The Creepshow.
