This song kind of sounds like an inferiority complex to me, and I relate to that lol. I remember when this came out on the Who greatest hits ~2004, I was 13 at the time, and in the shadow of my older brother.
I really related to this song as a self conscious squirt attempting to figure himself out in the shadows of a 3 letter varsity honors student smarty pants older brother lol; with an overbearing mother to boot. Kind of like Pete and what I presume to be Roger in the lyrics of this song.
