Well, it has themes of urban living in it. I feel like it's definitely about parents or a marriage, especially the bit that says Your daddy don't get you. I think it's just about someone struggling growing up in an urban environment with dodgy parents - according to these lyrics. I personally don't like the bit about Your Daddy don't get you. The way he sings it sounds like a bit of a dig, and why would you dig someone whose daddy doesn't get them? Seems empathetically counterintuitive. Maybe this person, who is the You, hurt the person who wrote the song? These are my thoughts on the song/lyrics. Great sound to the song though. That's why it's on my playlist.
