I feel this song is about someone who is struggling with substance abuse, and the significant other has been hurt so many times from their addiction. They are finally realizing the damage that they have put on the relationship and they both feel like their body is being ripped apart from ‘losing”’the other. They are struggling because their lover was a huge reason why they wanted and kept trying to get better… but they didn’t have the will or strength to overcome the consuming effects of addiction.
