I agree with your thoughts on the first. Second is recognition of problems larger than one's self, man vs self, and lack of not doing anything, thrown to the futility of one person's action, though he knows he should something. The adage, "let sleeping dogs lie," is brought to mind vs this hill on which to die, because he knows he's right. Third is going on with daily life, feeling overwhelmed by the small problems and constant barrage of that which is outside and intruding; he hasn't learned to say no. Man vs the world. Fourth. You won't acknowledge the truth of what is occurring and who he is within his reality. So, he'll package it nice and pretty so that you can ignore the bigger problems and at the same time, he's made himself what you want, not what he is; he has conformed the perception of what he should be. Lastly, Man vs God. God the dog is a sleeping dog - recall to the second. Perhaps a nod to turning one's cheek, so to speak. Attempting to make sense between what is vs what should be and hoping to come to terms with it for his own sake. Just the way I've internalized it over the years. My fave from Soup for sure.
