Cover art for Machine lyrics by Imagine Dragons

Im excited to be the first one to comment on this song.

This song is about Record dealers asking Imagine Dragons to join them. For them to demand the band around and tell them what to do. But Imagine Dragons is telling them that “I’m not a part of your machine” basically telling them that they are not a part of their business and that they’re their own band.

“All my life I’ve been sitting at the table” is telling them that the people in the band have been following orders all they’re life. “Watching them kids. They’re living in a fable” means that the band has seen other people do things freely, “paint this town with my very own vision” means that they’ve made their songs by themselves and that they’ll continue to make songs by themselves. “When you gonna see I’m not for sale” this means that they will not sell themselves to the dealers and make them boss the band around. “I’m not scared of what your going to tell me and I’m not scared of the beast in the belly” means that they don’t care what the dealers say and that they don’t care about what they say to the dealers. Hope this helped

I'm not scared of what you're gonna tell me No, I'm not scared of the beast in the belly

I just keep thinking this was like an ex girlfriend that wants to tell him something and he was not scared of it. With that in my head the next line makes me think she told him she was pregnant and...
