After reading Judy Collins's book and getting an idea of her own issues and demons, the lyrics make real sense (hoping that she's OK). What is striking is the last line about Paris. This was written in 1970, three years BEFORE he met and married his first wife, Veronique Sanson, the French singer IN PARIS where they lived at times. Foreshadowing is incredible. Disaster marriage, but their son seems to have a lot of talent and the best of both – hopefully without the pain.
