Bite & scratch & scream all night refers to Smith & Gallup going at each other which ended up in the Pornography tour being cancelled. And then he went and threw all his songs into the sea because nobody was hearing them anyway: ie he quit the band. Oh you know I'd do anything for you... let's have each other with cream, curl up in the fire (consuming each other, not lying in front of the fire but right in it) references cynically his relationship with the record industry. It's all about The Cure's commercial comeback after its very unpleasant demise in 1982 and whatever else Robert says about it is probably just him leading us astray with fibs as usual lol.
