I believe this song is about non-other than Drugs. It took me a while to come to this conclusion, but after giving it some thought I am quite sure this is possible meaning.

Verse1: "Because the world is round, it turns me on” This Can be both interpreted as a an aw towards nature, but also the "world" being a drug capsule, that is round and activates your high. (Admittedly this is the weakest verse in this interpretation)

Verse2: "Because the wind is high, it blows my mind” Here we see not only John’s mind high by implication, but also the wordplay on wind blows and blows my mind as an alure to being on drugs.

Verse3: “Because the sky is blue, it makes me cry” On its face this verse can be understood as a psychedelic feeling of conscious separation. I used to think the sky was just another thing that is high meant to convey the high of being under the influence, but after further reflection the song “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” has the sky fits into the exact same analogy.

In addition, the entire song has a dreamy feel and is easily imagined through the eyes of the drug user.
