I always read this as a song about rape instead of literal murder, and the abortion theory has never set with me very well either.

I did recently come across a story recently about the murder of a young girl by 2 juveniles in Birmingham Alabama in which one of the convicted murderers was named Kinder. He was sentenced to life without parole which was later found to be an unconstitutional sentence for a juvenile so Mr. Kinder was set to be paroled just before the recording of "Brutal Youth", the problem was that the judge in the case still refused to release Mr. Kinder as ordered which propelled the case into the national media.

"Here in the Bible belt boys like to have fun" - Birmingham, Al

"A stonewashed damsel on a junk food run" - the victim and her date were chosen because of their proximity to a Mrs. Winner's fast food chicken restaurant the murderers intended to rob after putting the victims in the trunk of their own car

The 2 boys attempted the robbery but were spooked by the woman in the drive through window screaming that the restaurant was being robbed at which point they drove away arguing about whether or not they needed to kill the unfortunate lovers in the trunk since they could identify them. Apparently Mr. Kinder asked that the girl not be killed but his accomplice decided to do it anyway while Mr. Kinder sat in the car "taking up space". The girl's date survived and made his way onto a nearby porch where a resident called police and the 2 kids were caught.

The sexual angle seems to be an invention on Elvis' part as I didn't find any reference to the girl being raped.
