I think it's talking about the media. With "she" meaning the media or press (possibly fame).

Is she ready to know my frustration? (Is 'she' (the media/public) ready to know the frustration of Layne/the band and what it's like to have their life known to everyone)

What she slippin' inside, slow castration (What's 'she' (the media) writing about in their articles about Layne/the band. 'Slow castration' being something made public that is painful and damaging)

I'm a riddle so strong, you can't break me (I perceive these lyrics as meaning Layne/the band can't be figured out on a surface level that the media/public can recognise from looking at from the outside. The media/public doesn't know the feelings and pain of being who they are on a deeper level. "You can't break me" may be talking about the fact their "riddle" and lives can't be worked out/ or that they won't be broken by the lies or the misinformation spread in the press)

Did she come here to try, try to take me (Did the media come to try to "take" (pictures or pieces of their personal inner feelings or their souls and being? "Me" meaning the whole of their inner being or reputation)

Did she call my name? (Did the media/press/public "call" (write?/speak) about them again or it could be interpreted as did media/press/public call MY name or someone else's? Someone the media/public THOUGHT or perceived them as)

I think it's gonna rain Oh, when I die ( I interpreted this as "rain" meaning tears. The public/media will show sorrow and care about them when they die but not while living. Like the saying "you don't know what you have/had 'til it's gone" I find these specific lyrics to be interesting in the way it's sung. There's a pause between a long stretch of the word "rain" and "oh, when I die" like they are saying they think tears will be shed for them, but "OH" ONLY when they die)

Was it something I said, held against me? (Was something they said or did, taken out of context and held against them. I also think the way this is sung is purposely written and sung to sound like "allegate me". Held a-gainst me - a-llegate me)

Ain't no life on the run, slowly climbing (There's no way to run/hide from the media and no way to live their lives outside of the media's eye. You can't be in the limelight and try to live in the shadows. "Slowly climbing" could mean climbing the fame ladder, feelings of pain or frustration rising, or being 'high' to escape(run) away.

Caught in ice so she stares, stares at nothing (Caught in ice (on T hin ice) possibly meaning the media (big brother) "she" still watches and reports on their downfalls/ the throws of depression or pain. Stares at "nothing" are they calling themselves nothing or nobodies? Or is there nothing to "stare at" or report on because they are trying to hide from the media?)

I can help her but won't, now she hates me (They can choose to "help" the reports and media/articles spread by giving interviews and providing communication with them but they chose not to and to stay out of the press. Now 'she' the media/public hates them, is writing lies or misinformation about them because they have nothing else on them)

Did she call my name? I think it's gonna rain Oh, when I die (As explained further up)

She won't let me hide ('She' the media won't leave them alone and won't let them live a life out of the public eye.)

She don't want me to cry ('she' the media/public/fans don't want them to be upset/depressed or in pain. They want perfection. They want them to put on a "happy" face and lie/mask about how they truly feel) Yeah

Will she keep on the ground, trying to ground me (Related to the last lyrics, the media/public is trying to "ground" them. Keep them from showing their negative or true feelings. Keeping your "feet on the ground" means you have practical and sensible expectations and attitude in life.)

Slowly forgive my lie, lying to save me (This could mean the push and pull of the media's agenda. Will the media/public lie and spread misinformation that they are happy living like this or will they bring attention to their pain and offer support. "Lying to save me" similar to the saying "You couldn't lie to save your life" meaning that the band/layne refuse to or show reluctance to lie about their feelings/ or have lied in the past about their mental state to "save face'/mask that they are unhappy.)

Could she love me again, or will she hate me (Could the media/public see them in a positive light again or will they turn on them)

Probably not, I know why, can't explain me (Doubting the fact the media will shed them in a positive way because they can't explain the complex feelings of Layne/the band - another hint towards the lyrics "I'm a riddle so strong, you can't break me" the media/public can't figure them out or understand how they feel)

Did she call my name? I think it's gonna rain Oh, when I die (Explained again above)

I'd like to point out also that this track's lyrics remind me of "Rape me"- by Nirvana which is also about the media and unwanted attention from the press/public.

This track is also off the album "Dirt". When you have "Dirt" on someone, it means you have information about them that could harm their reputation or career (another hint about the media?)

It must be incredibly hard to create a successful band and be forced to have your every word and action investigated, ridiculed and interpreted, sometimes completely misconstruing the real meaning. (No hypocrisy intended, as I sit here interpreting lyrics into my own opinion. I truly mean no disrespect if (high possiblity) I'm wrong. I like to think I somewhat understand or have a different interpretation and outlook on lyrics and hidden meaning. It's a hobby of mine.)
