In the Lowe/Apple interview Musgraves acknowledged that she does psychedelics, and there may be a couple drug references in the song, but I don't think this song is about drugs. I don't know if "good on green" is about weed or just about enjoying a salad (with a glass of wine).
I hear echoes of George Harrison & George Martin's Indian harmonies (Within You, Without You) in the strings in the interlude arrangement.
