Devin can take you on a ride and some buds will take you on a journey through his genius. His guitar solo is incredible, but it's not just the solo. The foundation behind the solo is so thick and deep with perfect waves of delay and verb that just suck you into the black hole. You fall in and ride around in Dev's imagination and then he takes you back out into the verse and chorus for a bit, before going in a really odd direction. Sometimes it's not about exactly what he says, but how he says it and stretches out particular words for emphasis or maybe just to fit the song. Either way, there's genius at work. The dude is a mad scientist in the studio. I've seen this live stuff and it's great! The biggest bummer was the release of Ocean Machine from beginning to end being mixed so horribily that it was almost unlistenable on the concert Blu-Ray I obtained. I don't know if that ever got sorted or not. But anyhow... Dev rocks.
