it’s obvious but i think it’s true that it’s about sexual assault. the whole album touched on ideas such as men’s desire for power, and men’s indulgence in dominating and controlling those who can’t fight back. one of my favourite songs of hers, though it is hard to listen to. the stripped back greed and shame and anger and pain is all so raw. as a dude, it shows just a slither of pain that so many women have suffered, one that i couldn’t comprehend.
