My personal take on this song is that it's about the relationship between the Sun. Moon and Earth and how the Sun and Moon provide everything needed for life on Earth but somehow Mankind has destroyed the natural world and the Sun and Moon are helpless to intervene.

So after a decade of reading comments here, most days of that time period, I'm making my first post and you've encouraged it....the perfect cosmic connection between all of the celestial bodies, small (like "us") or the macro (like the Sun, Moon and Mother Earth)....
