Seems to represent the approach to life of many of our introverted and depressed young people. Not being able to find paradise on the ground indicates an lack of association with or possibly a mistrust of traditional relationships, i e. "paradise on the ground". Sad really, hiding, waiting and failing to be happy..possibly because of a damaging prior relationship. Also possibly a hint of seeking paradise other than on the ground, drug use?? Wonderful song though, not as difficult to play as I thought.
