At the beginning it's quite fine because you become famous and your dreams come true but later you also face with the darker side of it all that may destroy you both physically and mentally. "The loneliness of a one night stand is hard to take" - I have read that Stevie describes here a situation when you're on a stage or you just have an permormance and there are many poeple all around, paparazzi, cameras etc. and then you find yourelf in an empty and quite hotel room and this contrast is a schock for you.
"The timeless face of a rock and roll woman while her heart breaks" - here she's singing how exausted you can be and how you got enough of it all.
Let alone the other issues like pressure, loneliness, lack of understanding/ supporting/friends etc.
