I've always been puzzled over the origin of this song. Carole Sayer has written some fantastic songs over the years, but none have been so ripe for puns and parody. I don't recall if people were any more or less crass and sarcastic back in the 1980s but it's hard for me to imagine that no one noticed the Eyes/Ice pun potential. In the end I still love this song.
