This song points out that what works for some people doesn't work for everybody; monogamy, for instance. As a society we uphold that monogamy is the only "right" way to have a relationship (in that case, being a celebrity with constant temptation has to be hell on a "normal" relationship). Some don't conform to the "normal" way of living life, and it works for them.
I believe the lyrics are about asking to not be repressed, being allowed freedom to fly, letting the partner know that wherever they roam they will return, and with greater appreciation (give me all/I'll give you more) and the relationship, without the constraints of what some people see as "right" or "moral", can thrive if the people involved have mutual respect and love for each other.
Some of us just need more freedom than others.
Like the saying goes, "If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it's yours; if not, it was never meant to be."
This is probably my favorite P.O.S. song in that I can relate everything in the lyrics to my own life/attitude/behavior. "Sometimes I feel/The beast is the best of me".
