Does anyone know if this song was intended to reference ecstasy, the drug also known as MDMA or molly, when he says "Let's all take a trip on my ecstasy"?
The timing of the song would seem to indicate that maybe it was intended as a reference as MDMA was known as ecstasy in the 1980's and there was ecstasy use at the big gay bars I went to in New York and LA in the 1980's. It doesn't seem to be referencing ecstasy in the sexual sense and it does reference "a trip" which would seem to be a drug reference.
If so, Freddie Mercury's reference to ecstasy this song may have been one of the earliest reference to ecstasy in a song, if not the first.
