It's not about the rays man, but the WAVES.
It's about the relentless and eternal currents of nature, the repetitive and dramatic episodes that are the drumbeat of everyday earthly existence.
Sure it's about the external currents, as embodied in the repeated rituals of dusk/dawn.
But from the music itself, I think it's also about those internal currents that we have no control over. Hence all the tortured screaming.
And it's also probably why, as someone mentioned above, the song doesn't sound very sunshiney at all.
(Incidentally, the golden nectar aka amrita is an esoteric/yoga concept that has to do with the material substance of life....)
