This song was my antidote for all of the craziness, alienation and loneliness of my freshman year in college. I think it served that purpose for many in my generation. There were terrible things were going on in society like the war in Vietnam… There were personal issues that were out of my control….But “ it’s only castles burning” or it’s just life. If you want to feel better you need to connect with some likeminded people, find love …save yourself first.
