Yes; this song is very underrated, along with a lot of other 90’s country music; to me it’s a treasure trove of amazing songs and great memories. Your mileage may vary. But yeah, this song to me seems to be about being at a crossroads, and it feels like he doesn’t care anymore, he’s giving up, nothing matters anymore so whether it’s one mile or a thousand miles, doesn’t matter. Every where you go, there you are. You can’t really run from anything. I mean you can try but it’s just denying the inevitable and delaying it a bit. Just go ahead and face it head on.
