Musicians understand the layout of this song. It’s a joke, honestly. This was around the time all the auto tune & ridiculous rap stuff was starting. The things that were said. It’s the generation of the band & listeners. It’s a lot like Floyd would do back when synthesizers first were starting. They made some far out, ridiculous shit, which sold millions & still does.
. I mean, I get it. I’m a musician. I enjoy it because it’s a mix of everything, has some corny jokes, and has a meaning. This whole album is amazing. We tend to be immature and say “I only like this one thing” and refuse to open the mind. Then, we grow up and say “this is pretty cool”. I learned my lesson a long time ago.
And I can’t figure out the true underlining meaning of the song. Yes, they mention God, but it has to be about more than just that. I’m sure they wouldn’t call God “Shorty”. “Shorty” means “significant other”
