I personally like the whole lost love meaning that someone else mentioned, but in this sense it's not exactly romantic. I know others might find it odd, but we have strong beliefs of things being communicated in very unusual ways to our family. Lots of experience with this. Example: My uncle died and the day of his funeral thousand of butterflies covered his house, we were able to stick our hands out and they would just crawl onto our finger and then back off. They all, simultaneously, flew away as we all left the drive way to head to the funeral home. Butterflies were symbolic to him while he was alive. Perhaps, it's all coincidences, but can't say it's not unusual. Plus, there have been many more like it with other events.
Anyway....
For this song, my mother was pregnant at a young age, unfortunately my brother was a stillbirth. She said she didn't know why, but the song would non-stop play everywhere she went, while she was pregnant. It played so much that she could not help but take note of it with an uneasy feeling each time. Like every time she got in the car it would be playing on the radio or things like turning on her alarm clock radio and it would be playing. It just was persistently playing everywhere, seemingly all the time, including when she was on her car ride to deliver him. After the unfortunate circumstances, it played one more time onnthe radio, and then it barely played again. She says she knows it was probably just from other songs taking over, but the timing and some of the lyrics ar every befitting. Like, a foreshadowing of events and then conclusion. She played pandora a lot and anytime she would get really sad about things the song would just come on and play. Again perhaps it algorithms or coincidence, but the timing of it all is a bit unusual.

That aside, it's an excellent song.
