Not aware of the Liv Tyler story, I first thought this was an ultimately dark easy-listening song about child abuse and Stockholm Syndrome.
I cannot get off that thought, even after Decemberguy's perfectly plausible explanation, it keeps haunting me. Maybe there's a double meaning to this song?
