I think the first verse is saying that things in life are complicated and potentially futile (live/die, song/can’t be sung, begin/end). He also throws in there that sometimes life sucks (no hellos, only goodbyes).
In the chorus I think he’s saying that since life is confusing and complicated we just have to accept it because we’re stuck between heaven and hell (i.e. on earth).
In the second verse I think he’s saying since we’re stuck on earth and since life can be complicated, confusing, and futile we shouldn’t take it too seriously (what’s it all mean to you, don’t spread your wings too far).
