I think everyone has it wrong, it’s not about someone she wants to have sex with. It’s about her mother, or parents in general. Constantly stating “I love you” yet a negative tone towards that statement, along with the “I made you.” I think the I made you is meant to be taken literally. “Breed on your own” could be about how the mother would get knocked up and not keep with the father. I think the “Somebody says, I love you” could be them having trouble to properly refer to that person as anything other than a somebody, because their difficult relationship with that parent, yet the parent still says they love them.
On top of that, she mentions a clone a couple of times, being the broken part of herself that entertains the idea of their parent loving them? Possibly. What a confusing song, i love it!
