I think this song is sung from a man’s perspective about what once was a troubled relationship with a girl or more of a one-sided one.
“She is electricity running though my sole” May mean when she’s not around it feels like she’s always there, inside of him.
“And I could easily lose my mind, the way you kiss me will work each time” could be implying that he forgets about all their worries / troubles when they kiss and take him to an easier place.
I think the man (the storyteller) decides to leave his partner which then he sings
“I never understood what was at stake, I never thought your love was worth the wait.”
