I think this song is sung from a man’s perspective about what once was a troubled relationship with a girl or more of a one-sided one.

“She is electricity running though my sole” May mean when she’s not around it feels like she’s always there, inside of him.

“And I could easily lose my mind, the way you kiss me will work each time” could be implying that he forgets about all their worries / troubles when they kiss and take him to an easier place.

I think the man (the storyteller) decides to leave his partner which then he sings “I never understood what was at stake, I never thought your love was worth the wait.” Now that she’s gone, be missing and regrets his decision. He didn’t realise how much he was giving up until it was gone.

“I never should have told you, I never should of let you see inside, don’t want it troubling your mind” Is telling us the storyteller wishes he hadn’t told her his feelings because he didn’t want it troubling her mind as he still wants to be with her.

“Well you’ve come and gone I’ve finally worked it” meaning now that’s she’s left, he’s wishing she were still around
