In their absence she is miserable. I believe that her lover was a truck driver who never returned, and she did lose her mind waiting. Her ghost haunts the road and reaches out to lonely truck drivers when they’re tired and weary. Calling them to her. They feel her longing for them, and become hypnotized. Driving to their “light in the sky”. Driving to their demise.
