To me this song is about how it's good to prepare oneself for disappointment. To not expect certain results from plans you make, because disappointment is inevitable. It's about the author feeling needy - needing a "King," and about having good passions and bad passions - i.e. a drive to think and do good things, and a drive to think and do bad things. He's saying the bad stuff needs to go, but thankfully the good stuff is going wild, largely because it's not him generating those things, but his "King" - or "Great Comfort," who is also his "feeling tank".
