Butterfly

Reconsidering my interpretation. It\'s a song about a teenager getting pregnant without wanting it, realising it but too late, and having the baby born before term in the last trimester. The narrator is a pregnant teenager who realised, between 4 and 8 months too late (due to both denial and not having used protection) that she was expecting her first child, but considers she\'s too young to have one. Have a listen to the beginning : the sound of butterflies wings, heavy beat and synth wave could suggest she has had the scan revealing her pregnancy. Her unborn baby\'s face could be visible during the scan ("Ton visage se dessine dans les moindres détails"), so the baby has a fœtus status, she has a baby bump showing, and feels the baby still attached to the umbilical cord ("Je m\'accroche à tes maux dans le moindre détail"). She must be going through her last trimester, since she feels the baby move a lot ("Des papillons en pagaille"), and she compares those moves to butterflies wings. But her undesired child brings pain to her ("Un peu sonnée par cette foutue bataille"), she feels like getting rid of the little one before term and so, induces uterine contractions ("Mon ventre se tord avant de te dire bye-bye"). Have a clear listen to Jen in to the instrumental part before the last chorus : it feels like the narrator is breathing heavily due to the premature childbirth, until she gets tired ("Un peu sonnée par ce foutu détail"). Then as the last chorus kicks in : it feels like the narrator is screaming, but as she lost a lot of liquid before the baby gets out, she could hear the baby cry as it leaves her ("Ta voix résonne au fond de mes entrailles"). At the end of the song, she gets rid of her undesired baby who has now arrived, but there is no official proof that he or she survives.
